my own WALL.E


Yes, that is my robot. I made it in one and a half hours. It runs around on it's little motor feet, and has two functions. One is to circle around and around until it 'sees' light, which then it runs towards it. Or it just runs towards light.

IN THEORY.

In practise, cause we're using cheap photo diodes, it can't really tell what is is strong enough to be considered 'light'. So most of the time it stutters around. Turn on a room light and it goes berserk.

Xuan accidentally connected wires to opposite motors, so it ended up trying to get away from light instead. Instead of self-imploding, it just sat there..anti-climatic.

Wish it had exploded...

job interview tomorrow!

really hope i get it. this job will allow me to start saving for big stuff, like a car!

hope i don't fail this interview. haven't had a proper one for awhile.

update: yeah got the job! fast response, 24 hours haha.

the job is a part time position at an IT support center under the Coles group. It's basically the stores like Target and Coles calling the center when IT problems occur e.g register down, EFTPOS not working etc.

the pay is pretty good. my brother's been there for almost 8 years now and now I start there on monday 28th for induction! woot!

Dinner is served soon!

a warning: what you read below will not be very nice and will change the way you look at me the next time I see you. It is cold, hard honesty nonetheless. You have been warned.

I'm in a terrible mood, I was imagining what it would be like if I was just terrible to somebody.
Felt like hurting somebody psychologically/emotionally.
That is not good.

EDIT: Yeah, just thought I'd add some personal observations I just remembered thinking about. I notice that I enjoy music videos where the musicians looks like they're having a great time doing whatever they're doing: jamming on a [insert instrument], making weird faces when they strain to hit notes, big natural smile or whatever. However, I dislike music vids where the singers act too casual and way too cool for us, like they're not even trying and that the music just works - like they're just too awesome.

Down-to-earth is the way to go if you want to win this guy over.

Also, looking like its REALLY difficult to play whatever you're playing is bonus points. You gotta TRY real hard. It's good to see the "damn, my fingers are hurting from playing this shit"-look on their face during the vid.

Being Asian is the easiest way though. Sorry, I can't help it.

So this is the ends of holidays

Hey guys oh wow the semester break is pretty much over and yeh it's been a good break. I managed to survive my massive working week so yeh im happy and u know what, it got easier and much more funner wow ahha, i actually like working at the student servicers counter now i think hehe. Yehh going out tonight to my friends place and yehh that will be fun hahaha. I just wanted to post

Anywayss yehh Hmmm what else to update on, oh yehhh exam results ahhaha. OMG i was soooo happyyyy ahah not that my results were outstanding but that i didn't fail chemisty ahahh! actually technically i did fail i only got 49 ahahh! but then they put me under Near Pass which means i still get my 6 credit points for my course i was like OMGGG yay!! ahahha But anywaysss next semester im going to work extra hard i still want to transfer and hopefully i can now that im not doing chem anymore hahah.

Anyways OOHH YEH i want to post up some Korean Utube things ahah! because i love korean stuff and yes if u have time come watch it's funny ahha.

Actaully this isn't that funny i found sooo cute hahah! ahha Crazy korean shows with their adorable korean kidss hahah

yumcha!


the yumcha gang.
unfortunately we had booked for 10, but due to some confusion on who was coming (it wasn't my fault, really!) we had to fit 14 people on the one table. but we managed, and it was good!

i've slowed down my week, as I planned. Lately just sitting at home playing brawl (which I've just finished submissonary in the last hour) and helping out with some random chores. Though we did go out on wednesday night, that was fun ^^ though my shoes got really dirty.

results also came out yesterday. I'm pretty happy with mine, though I'm kinda disappointed with some of the scores, because with a few more points I could've gotten a grade higher:

structures: 91 HD
materials: 75 D
dynamics: 67 C
maths: 77 D

i was going for 100 for structures! but i missed out by a few points, ah well. I'm just mainly glad I didn't fail dynamics. Seriously, I did two questions out of four for the exam, and I got them wrong. So thankfully, I'm guessing they standardised it cause everyone else didn't do so well either =]

UNI NEXT WEEK =[
moving back to the apartment sunday night, with my sister..so it'll be interesting how this go.
reminds me, gotta post up a room-for-rent thing on the marketplace thing.

holidays update 2

Hey guys timtamz here.
Umm.. yeh i must say i did read all of lings posts and failed to update this blog =( sorry ling. Yeh anyways now that i confessed to that lets update on the holidays. I had wanted to do so much more things on the holidays but sadly it never happen or won't happen.. this is because my holidays is pretty much over =(, awww... Well it's a bit my fault too but not really.. i think? See my manager at my college wants me to go in for work Monday - Friday 9-5 the comming week before uni starts and hence holidays shall end =(. I suppose i should be thinking of the money and such but right now i can't? because i really want to just hang out and spend time with my buddies. Anyways Since holidays did start it pretty much has been a bang! ive been going out heaps and such and yeh u can read up if ur more interested on my personal blog (follow the links from the looop). Yehh ive managed to catch up a lot with my girlfriend! it's been good because during first semester i think it was hard to catch up but for sure the holidays have recharged us and its been all good =). I've also a fair amount with my highschool friends which is awesome, it makes me miss highschool a lot =) Ohh but whats good is that i've balanced it well with my Uni friends too so i've hanged out with them a fair bit too soo yeh all good =) ahah. Umm although there are still so many people i haven't caught up with, makes me sad but at the same time i really can't do much about it.. man i wish i didn't have to work, because of work i can't hang out with the haileybury guys at allens, i don't think i can catch up with jon, i don't think i can meet up with jackie and josh =(... and i really REALLY wanted tooooo!! awwwwwwww =( anyways im writting as if it's the end of the world, ahhaha. Nah honestly it's been one of the best holidays i've had! im seriouse what i've gotten out of this semesters break is great! truly awesome! Not to mention wimbledon was on tv all night, hence ive been getting no sleep and not good =( i just saw the womens finals! hhaha it was mad! i hope other people watched it too but i know some people don't like watching tennis because it's boring haha, i for one have to disagree i just love the sport soo much ^^.
So in short

activating main relay..

Holidays so far...

In one word: busy/fun (okay i lied).

Highlights: Aquarium, brawl working, catching up with friends, driving lots, mass effect

Lowlights: going to a city bar (never again)

Looking forward to: going out today for lunch ^^, hancock tonight with amanda, yum cha tomorrow with mr.nug...want to sleep in!!

General Comments: Man, I thought my holidays were going to be the usual; lot's of things planned for the first week, but then slowly dying off to a staying home and doing chores. But it's been pretty much non-stop. Doesn't help that I have a car too, since my parents are attending a wedding in Queensland. Next thing planned is just to sleep in sometime next week.

But the things we've done so far have been awesome mostly. Aside from the highlights above, pot luck yesterday was really good. I was considering not going, cause I was tired, but I'm glad I did. That group is so much fun to hang out with.

Just to clarify, my lowlight city bar, was just not my thing. I know my other two friends enjoyed it, but I'm not into drinking, nor do I take very well to it. Plus I don't like the city. So, I don't plan to go to one of these parties for a long time (unless it's a close friend's)

anyway, off to lunchin'! =]

P.S teoh has stopped ling's killing spree for extra 250 gold!
