post day tomorrow.

It's post day tomorrow.

Working alot at Baker's Delight has surprisingly given me a few hundred dollars to ponder on to spend, but I found myself finding that I didn't really want to buy anything. Sure, I could buy stuff to play games on the wii, but I don't really need it. Books, yeah I could but I've got a few from the library to read. A few workmates of mine asked what I want for Christmas, and I found I couldn't answer. Most likelyhood I shall receive things that I desperately need, but for some reason can't get myself (i.e clothes..and clothes..and clothes). But I don't really want anything..at all.

So then it started me thinking that typical question: what really has value? Because the best things in life cannot be bought. I remember this book, Troy:Shield of Thunder, this man searches for the true things that matter in life: love, friendship, honor and something else that I can't remember. But I suppose those are really the core things in life, and for some reason those four things really did make me realize that money is so..irrelevant. You can't buy lots of gifts for someone, and expect to get love or friendship in return.

Anyhow, just ranting. Work is so tiring, and tomorrow I have a closing shift on Christmas eve, which apparently is one of the worst shifts you can get. Whoopee.

Another thing: I want to start a dream log.

ENTER day!

And so today is ENTER day. A day that begins with restless sleeping. Waking up at 3am, checking the clock...4 am, what's the time? 5 am, had a dream about phone with dying batteries, 6 am was really thirsty. 7 am finally came, and the phone beeped and pluck up my courage for 5 minutes before opening it...to discover Willie had messaged me instead = = Thanks for that Wil lol, it was encouraging. And then five minutes later, it came.

Nothing really surprising. I'm not happy, but not sad either. You take what you get, cause you can't do much anyway. I can get into courses I want anyway so, I think it'll work out pretty well. I know it doesn't do well to compare, but when you hear all thoes high 90's scores with your other friends, you kind of feel a bit put down with your score. But you must just put it into perspective!

Anyway, Marco aced VCE for me =D

Just something random: love triangles. They don't make sense. If you think about all those movies with love triangles..they aren't? Unless like the guys are gay or something. There is only attraction upwards to the female, creating the two sides, but no attraction along the bottom. Therefore, it cannot be logically be a triangle. Hence I propose that from now on, we call it a Love V.

Also, safe trips to all that have gone and going. Bit late for some, but hope you all come back soon.
Also also, get well Nat, who just had her appendix out =[

Thank you Santa for giving my notsuckyENTERscore present =]

Posting from HK

It's been 3 days in hk, and i've been wearing the same set of clothes out the entire time (i.e sleep in something different and been changing underwear of course lol). This is because my grandma told us to bring only 1 set of clothes each, so it would be easier getting here since we would only bring 1 bag as hand luggage, and we could just go shopping for more clothes while we're here. Anyway, my white shirt is gathering stains from everything and my jeans stink real bad, but I don't think it is very noticeable ourdoors with hk's natural aroma.

We went shopping today, but didn't end up buying anything yet (omg need a change of clothes), (except for some socks, as I REALLY needed a change of socks(!!!),) as we began with the intention of going back to buy things after looking around first as a comparison, but then ended up going for dinner and then directly home afterwards. I saw plenty of things I was interested in going back to buy later though. Including a silver DS, too :D perfect. And I intend on purchasing at least one t-shirt with some fobby engrish on it, too. Oh, and tim, I saw an ad for Gatsby on tv, but I haven't got them yet.

Ah, also, friday, we went to disneyland. It was pretty cool, but yeah, it was small (only one rollercoaster :/) Lots of cool disney merchandise though, and the parade was pretty good. Disney isn't so nostalgic for me, but it was pretty nice anyway.

Man, it's easy to get around HK though, you don't even need to take the octopus card out of your wallet to scan it, you can just scan your entire wallet and the machine will detect it, I was so impressed, + my wallet is massively thick atm but it still works. I could probably sit on the scanner with the wallet in my butt pocket and it would scan. And they got electronic signs on the MTR, which make it hell of easy to get everywhere.

ALSO, I'm not used to seeing so much chinese people everywhere speaking chinese lol. Too used to all the ABCs at home. And here I can speak english to my sister, like I would speak chinese to my parents back at home, in the way that: chances are, nobody else will understand :O

I've found something to do when we're not out now: sit in the apartment reading chinese doraemon. Man, either I can read traditional chinese pretty okay, or they use really really simple chinese in doraemon.

And that's it for now. I could complain about the smell more, but it's not all that bad I guess.
It just smells like hong kong.

PPS:Oh, and david, I got your msg. Does Ms.Lim still want it after I get back? Or is it too late? :(

Encouragement Post

I've decided to scrap whatever usual blogpost I write, and dedicate this post to my friend Marco! I won't make all the girls blush by putting up a photo of him cause he won't like it, but I shall just write encouraging words. This post was prompted by the recent post published in Quizzie's blog, which can be found in our link section.

Let me first start off by describing Marco, in my own opinion of course. For starters, he's smart. Anyone will tell you that. He's the scorer of high marks, the man who strives to get %100, and somehow most of the time does. If there was an unofficial 'smart people' ladder in school, he would be right up there near the top (actual fact, there is an OFFICIAL ladder, it's called ENTER scores, but anyhow).

But what I know that many people don't (oh so smart), is that Marco is not only smart, but he is one of the most determined and hard working people I know. Probably the most, though I will neither confirm nor deny that. For example, one of the many common facts about Marco is that his social skills do not match his intellectual skills (i.e STR points are much lower than INT). However! Over the years, I have seen general improvements in Marco's social attributes (gain +20 STR!). I remember that Marco actually told me or wrote about, him wanting to purposefully improve his own social skills! It dawned to me that Marco not only uses his hardworking studying skills to attain great scores, but he applies this to all aspects of life, which is really something great.

I've always seen Marco as a successful person in life. He's one of those go-to-for-money-when-you-don't-have-any type of guys. Yes, his social skills aren't the best, but nor are they non-existent! They have improved, and they will continue to, just like his height...until he finally get a wonderful girlfriend that we'll envy etc. etc. Medicine seemed like your destined, cause he does have a caring personality (though sometimes there is an evil side I see...like scribbling all over my year book as a 'signature'!). I actually envy Marco, because he created a chance for himself to become someone who can do so much good in the world, and he has the capacity to do it!

It might be too late, but you can do the interview Marco! We all go through things like this. You brush off all those maths tests like a fly, and they reduce me to tears! Your first few words were correct, it will change you! You are not weak. You have the makings of a great person, and I cannot think of a greater act of good than becoming a doctor (like person). Some of us will go on to mostly business, engineering, but where is the greater good in all of that, compared to saving lives. (though I better not turn this into a debate about that)

Marco you're my hero, and I'm proud to be your friend! YOU CAN DO IT.
